Thomas Terrence, Chris's grandson

Rhonda Temple, a long time guest on the On Tonight Show, and Chris just moments
before another one of their famous cake fights. (Circa 1992)

The Terrence Brothers exercise their right to lick ice cream cones in three-part
harmony on the Santa Barbara Pier. Chris on left, Bruce, and Philip
on the right. Notice the lady singing along (rear right).

Chris visits with Dave Baker, the big commissioner of the
Arena Football League before a game between Milwaukee and Florida.

Chris posing in front of a house that is not his, while leaning on an Aston-Martin that is not his. Or are they?

Musical Director Dr. Maynard Williams, and Chris pose on the second On Tonight
chapter ( in a series of 6 chapters) set, just before Showtime sometime in 1991.
The multi-talented Maynard plays keyboards, sax, fiddle, and harmonica and is also an artist,
fixes his own MG, is a carpenter, can tie a cherry stem with his tongue,
and most impressive of all, can do all these things at the same time.

Chris visits with the great boxing trainer, Wes Hodgins at the Ringside Gym,
home of world champions. Chris also did TV play by play along with
Kerry YO Nakagawa, Gus Zernial, and Stuart Quann at Ringside and even
served as a ring announcer on occasions.

Oakland Coliseum with (l to r) Joe Torre, Gus Zernial,
Don Zimmer, and Art Howe. On Tonight covered this celebration of our ole friend Gus' throwing out the first pitch of this A's Yankee game at the Coliseum. (1997)

Speaking of Oscar DeLaHoya, here he greets a packed house at Ringside.
Oscar was a great guest on our show when he was a teenager.
He still has that great attitude and is welcomed back and always good to see.

A long ways away from Ringside: Chris, duded out in tails,
introduces the Harry James Orchestra to over 5,000 at the Big Fresno Fair.

The On Tonight All-Stars getting it on: (l to r)John Schafer, Hank Sandoval,
Jack Lockwood, Johnny the Stick Valenzuela, and the man, Larry Gittens.

OK, turning back the clock way back, we got Chris'
very first television appearance in California.
That's Bob Crystal on the left of the 'ole Bob and
Chris duo, Johnny Tillotson (Potetry in Motion,
Tear On My Pillow, and many other hits) in the middle,
and Chris in his ponytail on the right.
Bob and Chris backed up Johnny on a couple of songs
here on the Al Radka Show in September of 1969.
Chris in his first recording session in California.
At Trac Studios in Fresno, when Bob and Chris
were there in 1969. That's Dick Kitson playing
the part of the bearded engineer.

Here is Chris playing one of his many gigs at
China Peak/Sierra Summit, around 1977.
He mostly payed as a single and sometimes
with guitarist Guy Hutchins, and as in this shot,
with Don Clark, a great flute player , and
sometimes with Jeanie Terrence who played
the fiddle. Later on Chris worked the area with
guitarist, vocalist, Gary Youngblood.
And there was fun, fun, fun till Spring
took the snow away.

Legendary mandolin and guitar player, not to mention incredible
fiddle player, Kenny Hall, along with Marta Hall get together at
the Terrence house for some Guinness and some fun.
Chris was a fill in for Kenny's band in the late 70's.

A party gathers for the CD release party for the Terrence and Youngblood group.
Unfortunately, Chris and Gary never did make an album, but it was a nice gathering anyway.

A gathering of staff, crew, and some people who happened to be passing by the On Tonight Show
in it's very early stages. This version of the show was shot out at the Cholan-Temple studio.
What a great group of people!

CT and BT play Lamonic Stadium in front of 12,000
in Clovis on the 4th of July, 1988.
Jeanie Terrence also played the gig and
also on stage, for their first concert,
was Billy and Corina Terrence, ages 7 and 5.
No sweat at all!

The brothers once again on the back of a truck
doing about 75 down Clovis Avenue in the Clovis Rodeo Parade.

Chris and sidekick, author, producer, filmmaker, actor, television personality,
athlete, and pizza deliveryman, Kerry Yo Nakagawa getting ready ringside for
another of their Friday Night Fights telecast at Table Mountain for McGiniss
Sports to be broadcast in the US and the Phillipines.

Oh, sure, it was a great steal by Larry Bird in
the closing seconds of the NBA playoffs, that
took a sure win out of the hands of Isiah Thomas
and the Detroit Pistons, and put that victory in
the hands of the Boston Celtics on that last play
of the game, but hey, it was THIS man, Dennis
Johnson who completed the play by having the
sense of mind to go to the hoop, get the pass from
Bird and lay it in for the victory in one of the
greatest moments ever in NBA history. Chris
and DJ at the Forum in LA at a Laker game a
couple of years later, talking about where they
were when that great play happened. We know
where Dennis was, but where the heck was Chris?

Patrick Tobin, Chicago's finest, and Chris,
and Charlie Scott perform
A Christmas Carol on B-95 Radio.
Also in the cast that day were,
Phyllis Diller, and Roger Clinton.
The place was packed and a
great time was had by all.
Chris played Scrooge. (Who else?)

This is part of the crew at an On Tonight Show wrap somewhere in the phase 5 part of the six
or maybe seven chapters of the show. Here we see Don Priest (director), Jason Owen (writer),
John Shafer (drummer), Johnny Valuenza (percussionist) Dave Smethers (writer),
Hank Sandoval (bass), Eddie Gordon (harp), Kerry Nakagawa (producer) and Chris whatshisname.

Oh sure, like you didn't know that Chris was the lead singer
in the Platters for 27 years. Here they are somewhere on tour on any given day.

That's Ed Armbrister, formerly of the Oakland
Raiders, and now of the Fishing Show. The
syndicated show is all about fishing in all kinds of
places and Ed makes the whole thing fun. On
Tonight went out on location off the coast of San
Simeon, California, in the beautiful blue Pacific to
do a show and it ws great fun, although probably
not so much for the band who insisted on staying
up in the hotel bar, drinking rum and smoking
cigars, even though we had to get up at 6am to get
on the boat and go out about 10 miles or so to fish.
Well the band got very, very sick and one rule they
have on these boats is that there is no turing back.
What a horrible sight these guys were. Doing much
better than the band, that's Steve Smith behind the
camera.

A farewell salute for Pat McGuiness before he
and Jane moved to Michigan. Pat and I worked
together on lots of projects.

Another picture of the farewell salute for Pat
McGuiness showing Anthony Gonzales, Raul
Enriques and some of the crew in it.

Chris and Jerry Tarkanian at the anouncement
of Jerry's big win agains the NCAA. It really
wasn't the money at all. It was about justice is
what it was. Jerry gave the dough away anyway.
Jerry is one of the true great basketball coaches
of all time and a number one fan of the game.

Chis in Ice. Cold.

Chris with Bob Mathias. Chris lists writing Bob's story as one of his biggest thrills of all time.
Not just writing the book, but getting to know a truly great man who has accomplished so much in his life.
Read the book, you'll see what we mean.

A hero of Chris' growing up.

Is it the Yankee center fielder

or that kid from Hibbing

or Zeke from Cabin Creek?

No explanation necessary

Prize winning basketball team from Hamaldo Mason Junior College. You'll notice that I am the coach.

On Tonight's Chris Terrence
and Larry Gittens,
just hanging out in a downtown
alleyway, just looking for some songs
to play, some people to interview
and some place to play some hoop.
Good friend Barry McGuire (New Christy Minstrels, HAIR,
Eve of Destruction, etc.) has been on our show many times
over the years and is always a great guest and friend to all.
He still has that incredible voice and a great laugh. Go to Links
on our home page and check out Barry's website.

Chris with Bob Mathias, the great Olympic decathlon champion, actor
and former Congressman. Chris wrote two books on Bob's incredible
life. Check them out in a fine book store near you or at Amazon.com,
or check out the "books and writing" chapter on our home page.
Dave Barry, one of the
worlds funniest and best
writers, contemplates
Chris' question pertaining to
Dave's sex life and how much
money he has in the bank.
Segment shot on location in
Bakersfield, CA.

Wanda Bork, the famous wieght loss champion and lecturer, visits on the set of Good Morning America with David Hartman and Joan London. Chris, along with brother Bruce, wrote many newspaper and magazine articles (Good Housekeeping, Glamour, TV Guide, etc.) about Wanda and her fantstic voyage and also produced Wanda's Wanda Bork, Wieght Loss Kit. Wanda is from Sanger, CA.

Author, actor, filmmaker, rodeo
bronc rider and great friend Kerry
Yo Nakagawa, former producer
of the On Tonight Show with
Chris Terrence, is a busy, busy
man these days. This book,
Through A Diamond, is doing
terrific and Kerry is all over the
world promoting it and his
Neisei Baseball Project, which
covers the story of the great spirit
of Japanese Americans during a
very tough time: in concentration
camps in the United States during
the second world war. It's a great
book and so is the museum exhibit
that Kerry has placed all over.
Check out Kerry's wonderful
website on our links page.

Alan "Bubba" Autry the mayor of Fresno, California. At long last, a truly honest politician.

Filming the "Keep the Ball Rolling" show, starring Earvin "Magic" Johnson and "Crazy" George Schauer, on location at Pepperdine University in Malibu, California. The Terrences produced the show. Chris "The Decider" on the left, Philip "The Genius Editor" on camera and Bruce "The Righter" on the far right. Joe Salavessa was the sound man standing center.

This billboard proclaming the annual County Fair TV Show, made Chris feel like he is 22 feet tall.
